Mahalo for a great season Warriors
They may not have been able to secure the win over Georgia but no matter. Warrior fans across the globe are proud that the boys made it to the Sugar Bowl! They did the impossible as they are the WAC champs, the only undefeated college team during their regular season and a Heisman contender. These alone are reasons to celebrate! For so many I’ve already read in other blogs who sit in judgment and put them down for not winning, I say put on a helmet and play yourself if you think you can do so much better! Yes, a win would’ve been great but it just wasn’t in the cards.
So to you Warriors, I say mahalo for a great season. You’ve made this fan proud and have raised the bar for the team in the future that the supposed impossible…is indeed within reach.

Well said. I figured that they had nothing to lose but respect but I was wrong. They earned the respect they deserved by just getting there and hanging as tough as they could against a very explosive team in Georgia. It didn’t help that many Georgia penalties were overlooked, especially the blatant celebration by the Georgia defensive coach who even came out onto the field and jumped into the arms of his player after an interception. If any Hawaii coach had done that, you can bet there would have been a flag. Hawaii can be proud of their team for hanging in there all season with a perfect record and doing what no other Hawaii team has done before them. Great job guys. The money you’ve brought to your school can only elevate the team in the future from here on out and that is an accomplishment in and of itself!
I agree. When the coach came out onto the field to practically dry hump his player, I screamed at the top of my lungs! I’m not trying to be a sour grape but those refs were fishy. They definitely overlooked lots of stuff with GA but had a hair trigger finger with HI. When the GA fans started chanting “overrated”, it infuriated me. They MADE it there. It’s a little hard for other teams to appreciate how far Hawaii had to fight to get there when they’re used to having stuff handed to them in the higher divisions. Only true Warrior fans who can see past the loss and appreciate the effort and positives that came out of this season understand that the last thing they are is overrated. Warrior pride!!
I love my Warriors…It is all I can say.
