Hawaii IPTV is slowly redeeming itself
You may remember this post where I was not completely convinced that Hawaii IPTV was worth the money yet. Since then, they’ve added a few shows…none that I’ve been overly impressed with but I’m sure there’s an audience for them. I would be happier if they got licenses for more current episodes of shows they already feature. Today I got the following update that *may* just cause me to renew my subscription
We are very excited to announce that UH Sports will be available starting this season on Hawaii IPTV! Subscribers will be able to view the best selection of UH Games – Live and On Demand!
Warriors Football, Men’s Basketball, Wahine Volleyball and more - all available with a click of your remote. Follow our home teams from anywhere in the world. Hawaii IPTV brings you select games for the best of UH Athletics Live, Local & On Demand.
Check our webpage at www.tvfromhawaii.com – we’ll be posting the game schedules soon!

Wow, this is great news. This has really been what I’ve been wanting all along from the IPTV service. Can’t wait to put it through the paces. Now if their hardware provider would provide a software update to allow the use of WPA encryption on the wifi I would be one seriously happy haole.
Aloha!
I just stumbled across your web site while doing a search for reviews of Hawai’i IPTV. I was born and raised in Hawai’i but currently live in Florida. So I was surprised to get a postcard in the mail saying that I could watch programming from home on my TV.
My biggest reason for wanting to get this is for the UH sports. After reading your first review of the service, I started to have some second thoughts about getting this. This post on your blog makes me feel a little more at ease about getting this.
One of my big concerns about the set top box, besides what I’ve seen you post here as well as the comments I’ve read, is that I own a 50″ plasma HDTV. I would be very surprised if the box or any of the programming were in HD, so I was a little concerned about how it would all look on my big TV. I guess I could always set it up on one of my older TVs, but watching the Warriors is so much nicer on the big screen.
I also noticed that they offer the programming on the web as well, and I was thinking that I might go that route.
Anyway, sorry to write such a long comment. Since you’ve had this service for a few months, would you recommend I dish out the money for the full package? Maybe just go for web only for now?
Oh and I’m glad to have found another blog about Hawai’i. I miss home very much and like to find things to remind me of the islands. I’ll definitely be bookmarking your site and visiting more often!
A hui hou!!
Aloha Keli’i!
I emailed you but an addendum to that email should probably be my currect post after having attempted to watch the first two Warrior games on IPTV. I’m pulling for this service and they get SO close but never seem to get the touchdown.
