Here’s this week’s questions.

How do you make mashed potatoes?
If I’m throwing calorie counts to the wind, cube (with skins), boil, mash with heavy cream to desired consistency, coarse black pepper and Hawaiian Salt.  For some flavor I may add a more pungent cheese like asiago, gruyere, parmesan, etc with some grated garlic and scallions.  YUM!

What do you wash pots and pans with?
My husband.

Name something red in your refrigerator right now.
Ketchup or hot taco sauce.  Take your pick!

Do you prefer to use boullion cubes or the boullion powder mix?
Neither.  That stuff is a salt lick!!

Here’s this week’s questions.

1. Name one bad habit you have in the kitchen.
I will put water in the pots/pans to soak and then forget about washing it until the next day.  My intentions are good.

2. Do you have a tv in the kitchen?
I’m lucky to fit two okoles in my kitchen, no room for a tv!  But I have a view of the living room tv from the kitchen so I’m good.

3. What’s one food you can’t stand cold?
Soups.  I’m not a chilled soup fan.

4. What’s your favorite juice?

This week I’m changing it up a bit. I’m challenging players to create a meal or share a recipe that uses four ingredients – olive oil, chicken, cheese (any type) and a vegetable.

Get chicken breast and cut in half or tenderloins.   Make a breading of panko, italian seasoning and shredded asiago cheese.  Dredge chicken in flour, egg wash and panko breading.  Bake on 400 degrees  for 15 minutes or fry in skillet in some olive oil until done.  Get asparagus and cut off the bottom third (that is tough and woody) and cut what’s left in half.  Saute in some olive oil, rosemary and roasted garlic until bright green with a bit of snap still left in it.  Serve both either with a great flavored pasta or rice.

1. What’s your favorite flavor of Italian Ice?
Cherry

2. Watermelon. So you prefer seeded or seedless?
There aren’t really seedless ones.  The ones that claim to be seedless still have those whitish “shells”.  I’d rather have the black ones to spit, I guess.  I don’t really eat it anyway.

3. Ice cream. Do you prefer soft serve or hard?
I like both but typically prefer the hard packed kind.

4. Ice pops. What kind is your favorite?
Flavor Ice reminds me of childhood but I remember they used to give you this weird scratchy feeling in your throat when you were done with them.  I don’t really eat those anymore either.  Hmm.

#1. TheSaladCaper’s question. Give me one weird food combination which has always been your comfort food.
I don’t know about comfort food but I put ketchup on everything.  Eggs, Mac and cheese, Thanksgiving dinner after I make a big pile in the middle of my plate but that’s more just to gross out my family!  Heh heh.

#2. Name a food that begins with B.
Broccoli

#3. Name a drink that begins with B.
Brandy Alexander

#4. Share  a recipe for something that calls for broccoli.
Ooh hey, I didn’t even see this before I said broccoli for my answer!  White rice, cheese sauce and broccoli.  Simmer together and enjoy.

#1. Lynne’s question. Do you cook items besides meat on the bbq grill, and, do you prefer gas or charcoal grills?
Hmm, I think the only thing we’ve cooked other than meat is sweet corn.  YUM!  I prefer gas because I’m just not patient enough for charcoal.
#2. Name a food that begins with A.
Asiago cheese

#3. Name a drink that begins with A.
A&W Root Beer. (Yuck…lol)

#4. Share  a recipe for something that calls for American Cheese.
Put your broiler on high.  Toast an english muffin.  While that’s going, grab a can of tuna fish and drain it.  Add some light Miracle Whip, chopped celery and chopped scallions.  When the muffin pops, slather the tuna salad on top of each half then put a slice of American cheese on each half and put it under the broiler until melted.  Voila…tuna melt.
